Do I need A Partner ?Yes and no... You don't need a partner to register for Is there Hop?. The persons which subscribe without a partner will be put on a waiting list. From there, they get automatically matched as soon as another "single" person subscribes at the same workshop level. That means, if you as a follower (Advanced) do subscribe alone, you will be put onto the waiting list. As soon as a "single" leader is subscribing for Advanced as well, you two will get matched immediately. We still recommend to sign up with a partner, but it is not a must. Waiting list - why?It is very important for us, that the number of leaders and the number of followers are more or less equal. Why? It is not too much fun for the followers (mostly there are more followers than leaders) to spend half of the lessons waiting. That is the reason why we decided to use the waiting list system. We want to get the persons without a partner also a chance to participate at the Is there Hop? festival. What if I don't get matched from the waiting list?Don't worry, we will do our best to find you a partner! We will find a solution and try all we can that nobody will be excluded from participating at Is there Hop?! Where can I find a dance partner?You can look out for a dance partner in your lindy hop class, at the parties or online at the dance partner forum from Dancers Directory. Can I only come to the parties?Yes, of course. Everybody is very welcome to join us at the parties only. You don't need to be a dancer either. The live bands will also be fun for aficionados of swing & jazz music. The party costs CHF 30.-/night (CHF 25.- with student card). Can I do Charleston only at Is there Hop? 09Well, we are sorry, but you can't. This is a Lindy Hop and Charleston workshop and our aim is, that everybody takes part everywhere and everytime. We really like to build up a good and strong group feeling, so that everybody is always somehow involved. The one and only possible exception is to take part at the two first days only (Is there Hoeppli?). Are there any convenient hotels in Zuerich?Hard to believe, but there are convenient hotels in Zuerich! You'll find a list of hotels here. Where can I pay the workshop to?Our post account: If you are paying the workshop from abroad and have trouble with succeeding, don't worry. You can also pay the workshop in cash on the first day of the festival. We accept CHF and Euros, although change will only be given in CHF. Attention! This is only possible for participants coming from abroad! |
